Helena Bonham Carter rumored to play Edith New in Suffragette

Helena plays Edith New, known for her extraordinary ideas during the protests. In January 1908 Edith chained herself to the railings in 10 Downing Street. A little later in that year, together with Mary Lee they broke windows there. Edith New was arrested several times and imprisoned for public order offenses.

Burton and Bonham Carter ultimately fell in love. Really in love. Speak to anyone who knows them and they will tell you that this is one of the great love stories; a truly happy ending for two shy, funny, kind, complex, emotionally weathered souls who have found their better self in the other.

“I think everything in life is art. What you do. How you dress. The way you love someone, and how you talk. Your smile and your personality. What you believe in, and all your dreams. The way you drink your tea. How you decorate your home. Or party. Your grocery list. The food you make. How your writing looks. And the way you feel. Life is art.
